Contacts

Sorry it's been a while since we've entered anything onto the blog but due to not having broadband available at our accomadations it has been a little difficult.

Once we get sorted I will continue to enter our journey in, but just to make sure you know were alive and kicking I thought I'd add this.

We have new Australian mobile numbers
Email us for it
DO NOT FORGET TO ADD THE AUSTRALIAN CODE (+61) AND TAKE OFF THE O.
This is due to our UK mobiles going to be cut off shortly, and also our bills creeping up dramatically.

Using our emails is good and we will respond, it's really good to know what your all up to.

God bless
Gaz, Chelle, A-J & Belle(as chantelle wishes to be called now)

Tut Tut

Tut Tut
The driver can make this or break this journey for you.
DON'T GET RIPPED OFF.
We we're lucky "Mr Sam" told us barter with them also.
(Introductions to "Mr Sam" Later)

Market

Market by Night
We were taken to the market by taxi.
It felt as if we were dumped in the middle of caos !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But in a few minutes Gary had us methodically routing through market stalls.
We found this a mind blowning experience
( but did find ourselves going back twice, and going to another also)
We took Bev's advice and ate from a market stall - Gary having complete heart failure at the thought.
But spending only 160 bart (68 bart = £1.00) on a meal for the 4 of us this including drinks made him happier.
One of the experiences the girls loved about going to the market was the reurn trip in a Tut Tut.

Jim Thompon's House

17.2.07

Jim Thompson's House

  • Jim Thompson was a famous silk trader in Thai land, who suddenly went missing.

in 1967 (please correct me if I've got this date incorrect).

  • The pot has a beautiful big gold fish in which loves to be tickled, and we didn't need to give the girls much more opportunity to put their hands in.
  • Both girls bought themselves a raw silk elephant, as a keepsake. Maybe you'll get to see them one day?!!

The Grand Palace or Golden Palace

17.2.07

The Golden temple is an amazing place, something not to be missed. But a little hard work with children trying to acclimatize.

The magnificent displays - creativity are all some what over whelming.
What do you think of the magnificent toporied trees?

Another plus for Bangkok

  • This trip took about 2 hours, and was a really eye opener.
  • wish we had more time and could have gone on it several times.
  • The girls bought from a river market seller a musical frog.

Shangri La Hotel

15.2.07
We arrived at the Shangri la Hotel (5*)
We settled very quickly into our room and went off to dinner in the Chang Palace ( a Chinese restaurant in the Hotel).
Have a look at the website it gives an idea of where and what we we're viewing during our stay
