A baby Purple Swamhen.

These birds as make very odd noises, chucling,screeching etc.

The first night we heard them we assumed something was being killed in the wooded area.

Hmmmmmmmmm.

But when this ones Mother decided is was going to take a walk through our garden, to be seen by the us, it screeched amazingly loud.

Whizz is exhausted............
'Copper' is our RoosterHaving a wonder around (the very full) dam.
Great to see them all mixing together.

Sad Times

Well just thought you better know that we have had a bit of a tuff time in Paradise.

Remember Porridge, I sadly had to take him to the vets and he had to be put to sleep as he had CL which contacted from an air born bacteria, which once gets in to open wounds causes large ulcers, thankfully his suffering was minor - as this was the very first ulcer that he had. This bacteria has no cure. And is highly contagious to horses, sheep, goats. So for a few weeks we were worried for Horace too.
